Ms Manuela (Manola) Sanchez Aragú

Head of Institute

Manola is one of the founding member of GBI and a graduate of the University of South Africa (UNISA). She is well versed in strategic marketing, acquired from working in the marketing field in South Africa for more than 25 years. During the past nine years, she has served in executive marketing capacities in leading South African and global brands in business and executive education. Her professional experience includes Marketing and Communications with the UNISA School of Business Leadership; and Wits Business School. She served as the Director in both institutions.

Manola has firsthand experience of managing global/international brands. She has years of marketing experience and a strong network in the South African business landscape. Although her career has been focused in the business and leadership education sub-sector of the tertiary industry, her experience is considerably broader and includes the diplomatic field and the travel industry.

She has also served as a part-time tutor on the UNISA MBA programme, on its Marketing and Knowledge Management modules. She teaches strategy, customer service and branding, has consulted extensively, and has developed leadership programmes. She is often asked to speak on Marketing and women empowerment. She is driven by absolute commitment and ultimate professionalism in the business and leadership education market in South Africa.

 

Dr Basil Rhodes

Student Registrar

Basil holds the following qualifications, Masters in Zoology with the University of the Western Cape accompanied by a PhD in Education and an MBA from an international Business School.

He held various senior positions at the University of Johannesburg, culminating as the Deputy Registrar Student Affairs.

He now consults extensively in research.

 

Mr. Cecil John Rhodes

Director Operations & Business Development

Cecil is a graduate from the University of the Western Cape. He holds a B.Com (Hons). Cecil has over 27 years of professional experience, having worked in senior management for the last 27 years. He has over 12 years of professional experience in facilitating and lecturing both in classroom environment and online. Cecil’s area of specialization is marketing, financial management and operational management. He is well respected in the business educational environment in South Africa.

Cecil has commercial expertise to deliver a well-rounded contribution to achieving business objectives. He worked in 2 companies as part of the start-up staff, developing policies and work procedures. He held senior positions in business development and marketing throughout his career.

Cecil was the Regional Manager for the National Lottery in the Western Cape.

 

Busiswe Nkambule is a registered Facilitator and Assessor with Services Seta. She is a highly experienced Training Coordinator, as well as Learning Development Specialist with comprehensive experience developing and facilitating dynamic learning materials and curriculum, she possesses expertise in the successful design, development, and execution of needs-based training programs to accelerate staff education and stimulate peak performances.

With her ability to capture training requirements and customize programs to achieve objectives, she excels at coordinating and delivering powerful learning tools while effectively driving program analyses and modifications to better meet learners’ needs.

Conducting and/or contracting effective training programs encompassing a broad range of employee requirements and needs—including professional development, leadership education, and general staff on-boarding, including assessing program effectiveness and success through data analysis and follow-up initiatives to ensure transfer of training knowledge to job performance.

Daphne Els has practiced as an independent consultant in human capital business solutions for the past few years. She comes from a professional corporate background and has been working in the vocational training & development arena since 1990.

Her extensive background in the South African ETD environment ensures that her wealth of knowledge and experience add huge value to her client base. Daphne has been part of a project on Diversity / Transformation for Anglo American in which we researched the manifestation of racism and sexism in the mining sector as well as implementing a diversity programme for their platinum operations.

She has also participated in Racism Surveys and led a few of Anglo’s Operations in a Leadership Forum which looks at their values and culture.

Julian de la Hunt holds a Bcom (Honours) in Human Resources / Industrial Psychology from University of Pretoria (1999 – 2005) and registered through the HPCSA.

Julian furthermore holds 3 Business school certifications through the Gordon Institute of Business Science and has been operating at Executive level in a Human Resources capacity for the past 5 years.

He is the South African partner for “i2i – the Catalyst to positive change” and is an expert in personal mastery, team building and inspiring and delivering positive change.

He has held various senior Human Resources positions with Standard Bank, Kumba Resources, Basil Read, TWP Projects and WorleyParsons and has consulted to large firms on OD, Reward & Remuneration management, Performance management, Talent management and Industrial relations.
